What are some of your hobbies outside of work?I love camping and being outdoors, whenever I get an opportunity to be out in nature, I jump on it. Soccer is a passion of mine and I've been playing my whole life. You will usually catch me either playing soccer or watching it in an Irish Pub somewhere downtown on the weekends.
If you could travel anywhere in the world right now where would you go?The number one place I want to travel to right now is Argentina. I want to experience Buenos Aries and also travel to the southern part of the country and explore Patagonia.
Where’s your favorite place in the world? The northern and central California coast, everywhere from Santa Cruz all the way down to Morro Bay. As early as I can remember, my family traveled to Santa Cruz every summer. As I grew up, I continued to go there as well as up and down the California coast whenever I had a chance. I fell in love with that area and love everything it has to offer.
What’s the coolest thing you’re working on right now outside of work?I've been teaching myself to code software and websites. I see it as a very valuable skill to have while working in the technology space.
What do you like most about working at OnceThere? What I like most about working at OnceThere is the feeling of freedom I have in my job. There hasn't ever been a defined playbook or training manual for the roles I have been in when I first started them. Instead, I'm given the freedom to take the skills that I've learned over the years and apply them to developing into my role in a way that supports the business.
Imagine you are hosting a dinner party, who are 3 people, living or dead, that you would invite?Nelson Mandela, Charles Darwin and Steve Jobs.
What is your favorite thing about living in Austin? What I like most about living in Austin is how affordable it is to live here. I grew up in the Bay Area in California where housing prices and the cost of living is among the highest in the US, going from there to Austin is a huge difference.
What is your favorite place you have traveled and why?My favorite place that I've traveled to so far is China. I traveled to Beijing, Shanghai and Xian and saw so many interesting things that I never knew existed. What stood out to me the most about my trip was how their culture is significantly different from western culture. You see and hear about it on TV, but its a different story seeing it first hand.
